For many years I was a teacher of grades 1-9, plus I have substantial experience as an administrator, conference speaker and workshop facilitator. Today I am recognized as a leading authority in teaching children and adults how to become competent and enthusiastic readers.
Years ago I saw the struggles that many young people were having with learning to read and it was difficult for me to see how unhappy they were and the impact it was having on their family. I realized that the public system was not helping them.
