April 3,
2005 To Whom It
May Concern: I am very
pleased to write this letter of reference for Vera Goodman. I have had the pleasure of attending her
workshops a few years ago as an elementary principal. At that time I was stuck by the way she
conveyed her message to teachers and parents about supporting children’s
literacy learning in a straightforward and captivating way. Her knowledge and enthusiasm and practical
experience came through. Her ideas
have been embraced by teachers and parents alike. Now, as a
university instructor on the faculty of Education, Mount Saint Vincent
University, I have the pleasure of sharing Vera’s ideas with pre-service
teachers as well as seasoned veterans.
Their reactions are similar to those I witnesses in Vera’s
workshops. They find her ideas
effective, enjoyable to work with and easy to implement in a wide variety of
teaching situations. Those who are
parents connect with her sharing of ideas especially for parents, while
others report on the activities they have tried and the success they have had
with them. I would
highly recommend Vera as a guest lecturer.
Her presentation skills, as well as her experience working with
parents, children and teachers will be an asset to your program. If you have any additional questions,
please feel free to contact me at 1-902-584-3692. Sincerely, Jane
